Lolly’s Great Bridge began with an existing concrete slab inside a long, narrow retail space. The floor needed to withstand daily traffic, but it also needed to contribute to the finished interior rather than read as leftover construction.
Hâpax refined the slab into a polished concrete surface that carries light through the storefront, reflects the rhythm of the fixtures above, and gives the room a durable, continuous foundation. The finished floor retains the natural variation of the concrete while feeling deliberate within the clean white interior.
The approach
The starting slab showed the marks and variation expected during a commercial buildout. Hâpax worked through the surface methodically, addressing the main retail area, narrow circulation paths, edges, and smaller rooms as one connected floor.
Because polished concrete is built from the slab already in place, the goal was not to make the concrete look manufactured. It was to reveal enough character, refine the surface, and establish a level of sheen that belonged in the space.
