What does a two-car garage floor coating cost?
Hâpax garage floor systems start at $4,000, with a typical two-car floor often between $4,500 and $7,500. Size, old coatings, slab condition, moisture, repairs, perimeter details and the selected system affect the proposal. Cabinets, slatwall and other garage improvements are separate unless included in the written scope.
Is epoxy or polyaspartic better for my garage floor?
The complete system matters more than a single product label. Preparation, moisture conditions, base coat, broadcast, protective topcoat and cure requirements need to work together. Epoxy and polyaspartic products can perform different roles within a system. Hâpax recommends the assembly for your slab and use rather than assuming one chemistry is always best.
Can you coat damp concrete or a floor with peeling paint?
These conditions need assessment first. Old finishes and contamination affect bonding, while moisture conditions can change preparation and system selection. Share photographs and explain when the dampness or peeling appears. A coating is not a repair for an underlying water-entry problem; any additional preparation or moisture-related work must be defined in the proposal.
Can cracks and control joints be filled before coating?
Qualifying cracks and selected joints can be addressed as part of an agreed scope, but structural or ongoing movement needs separate consideration. Filling does not guarantee that a crack or joint will never show again. Hâpax identifies what is being repaired, what remains and any exclusions before installation.
Do I need to empty the garage, including appliances and tool chests?
We need clear access to the areas being prepared and coated. Share photographs of appliances, tool chests, existing cabinets and anything difficult to move. Moving help or temporary storage can be discussed, but arrangements, responsibilities and any cost must be confirmed in the written proposal. Do not assume these services are automatically included.
How long does installation take, and when can I park again?
Many straightforward Hâpax garage floor installations take approximately two working days. Roughly 72 hours is an initial parking allowance, not a guaranteed cure time. Preparation, repairs, temperature and the selected system can change the sequence. Hâpax confirms project-specific guidance for walking, returning stored items and vehicle traffic.
How do I clean a coated garage floor?
Remove loose grit and clean spills promptly using the method recommended for the installed system. Avoid choosing a strong cleaner or abrasive tool solely because the surface is a garage floor. Hâpax provides care guidance for the actual coating, including how to approach tire marks, oils and other contamination without unnecessarily damaging the finish.
