Concrete countertops can stain, but the materials and sealing system make a significant difference. A dense, high-performance mix such as Kodiak Pro Maker Mix, properly cured, processed and treated with ICT reactive sealer, provides strong resistance to everyday spills while preserving concrete’s natural appearance. Stain-resistant does not mean stain-proof. Protection depends on proper application and curing, the substance spilled and how long it remains on the surface. Wipe up spills promptly—especially acidic foods, oils and strongly colored liquids—and follow the care instructions supplied with your countertop. Extra care is important while the reactive sealer develops its full protection.

Use trivets for hot cookware and cutting boards for food preparation. Concrete’s heat resistance does not mean its sealer is immune to heat or scratching. Product-specific resistance varies, so follow the care instructions for the actual finish rather than treating the countertop as an unprotected concrete slab.

Concrete can develop fine cracking and natural variation. Reinforcement, geometry, support, handling and installation are designed to manage that risk, not eliminate every possibility. Hâpax reviews the intended use and appearance expectations before approval; new damage or a change in a crack should be assessed rather than assumed to be cosmetic.

Not necessarily. Site access is often the biggest factor: doorways, stairs, elevators, turns and the route into the room determine what can realistically be delivered and installed in one piece. The next consideration is value. A seamless piece may be achievable, but fabrication, handling and installation can add significant cost. We help you weigh that investment against thoughtfully placed seams, considering the design, support requirements and how the surface will be used.

In many cases, yes. Our concrete countertops typically weigh around 10 pounds per square foot, often less than granite or other stone surfaces. Actual weight depends on the design and thickness. The condition and construction of the cabinets still matter, along with spans, overhangs and sink openings. We review those details to identify any support needed before installation.

Integrated basins and drain details are possible when the use, geometry, plumbing, maintenance and installation plan support them. A separate undermount or other sink may be a better fit for some projects. Share the intended basin or sink model early so the surrounding concrete and penetrations can be designed together.

Yes. Hâpax offers templating, delivery and installation. Customers can also supply their own template and arrange pickup from our Norfolk studio to reduce the overall investment. We confirm template requirements, dimensions, handling and installation responsibilities before fabrication so everyone understands what is included.

Clean spills promptly and use gentle, nonabrasive cleaning appropriate to the selected finish. Avoid experimenting with harsh cleaners, acids or abrasive pads. Resealing and repair needs depend on the protective system and wear; there is no single schedule for every concrete countertop. Follow the project-specific care instructions and contact Hâpax if the finish is damaged.
