Concrete countertops · Made in Norfolk

The surface
the room could not find.

Hâpax designs and precasts concrete countertops, islands, vanities, and hospitality surfaces around exact dimensions, daily use, structure, finish, delivery, and installation—not a standard slab catalog.

The useful starting point

A custom countertop should solve the room’s dimensions and function while remaining honest about concrete’s weight, variation, and care.

Project fit

Where custom concrete becomes useful.

Concrete is most compelling when its form, thickness, color, texture, or integrated details do something a standard manufactured surface cannot.

01

Kitchens + islands

Residential worktops and islands designed around cabinetry, appliances, sinks, overhangs, seams, and the way the room is used.

02

Baths + vanities

Countertops and integrated-basin concepts where proportion, water exposure, mounting, and wall conditions need to be resolved together.

03

Hospitality + commercial

Bars, service counters, reception surfaces, and large-format focal points coordinated with equipment, circulation, branding, and installation access.

Decisions that matter

Custom dimensions create real responsibilities.

Proportion, reinforcement, support, seams, penetrations, handling, and maintenance are part of the design—not details to solve after casting.

01

Scale + thickness

The visual weight of the surface is balanced against handling, support, span, edge conditions, and the architecture around it.

02

Color + character

Mix, pigment, finishing, and handwork establish direction while natural variation keeps each cast piece from looking manufactured.

03

Seams + integrated details

Piece size, sinks, faucets, outlets, equipment, backsplashes, waterfall legs, and access determine where joints and penetrations belong.

04

Protection + care

Sealer selection and maintenance expectations are discussed around staining, heat, abrasion, water, and the client’s tolerance for patina.

How Hâpax approaches it

A clear path.
Before the work begins.

  1. 01

    Begin with the room

Share plans, dimensions, cabinetry, equipment, references, schedule, and what the surface needs to accomplish.

  2. 02

    Resolve the design

Hâpax develops proportion, layout, structure, finish, samples, handling, and installation requirements.

  3. 03

    Cast in Norfolk

Approved pieces move through forming, reinforcement, casting, curing, finishing, sealing, and final review in the Hâpax studio.

  4. 04

    Plan the placement

Delivery, access, support, seams, field conditions, and installation responsibilities are confirmed before the piece leaves the studio.

Useful questions

What clients usually want to know.

Does concrete stain?

Concrete is porous and depends on a protective sealer. The selected system improves resistance, but no surface is completely immune to staining, heat, scratching, or wear. Care expectations are discussed before fabrication.

Will the countertop crack?

Reinforcement, proportion, support, handling, and installation are designed to manage risk, but concrete can develop fine cracking and variation. Hâpax explains the expected range before approval.

Can the sink be integrated into the concrete?

Integrated basins and drain details are possible when they fit the use, geometry, plumbing, maintenance, and installation plan. They are evaluated case by case.

Does Hâpax template and install the countertop?

Responsibilities depend on location, size, access, cabinetry, handling requirements, and project team. Hâpax defines field measurement, delivery, installation, and any required specialty handling in the project scope.
